The lead vehicle for the Mobile Assault Team, Company A, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, drives down Route 611 outside of Patrol Base Jamil, Sangin, Afghanistan, April 29. As a QRF, MAT is already operating within the area of operations and must be ready to respond at any moment to calls from the company positions and patrols. This allows them to support the Marines of the company without having to rely on the battalion for re-supplies and logistical support.
