Lance Cpl. William R. Calhoun, a machine gunner with 2nd Platoon, Company C, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, attaches his night vision goggles to his helmet at dusk in preparation for night fall, May 9. The Marines of 2nd Platoon used NVGs throughout the night on their overnight listening and observation post near Patrol Base Fulod, Sangin, Afghanistan. Calhoun, 28, is from Huntington Beach, Calif.
