Sgt. David Pedroza, a squad leader with 2nd Platoon, Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment and a Fontana, Calif. native, patrols through a village held under heavy insurgent influence as part of operation Western Gambit, Nov. 27. Pedroza’s squad was engaged in two firefights with insurgent forces intermittently throughout two days of patrolling through villages that were, until now, untouched by coalition forces.::r::::n::::r::::n::::r::::n::
