MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJUENE, N.C. –Master Gunnery Sgt. Carlos Middlebrooks, tests the temperature of the beef and corn after it is done cooking to make sure it meets the required standard during the Field Mess Competition, August 3, 2012. Middlebrooks is the food tech for Marine Corps Installations-East/Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and an Atlanta native. 1/6 Food Service, with help from food service Marines with 3rd Battalion, 9th Marines represented Division in a II Marine Expeditionary Force-wide field mess competition, August 3, 2012 aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
