Major Christopher J. Murphy, supply officer for Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, presents the Congressional Gold Medal to retired Marine Sgt. Arthur Obee at his home in Wilmington, N.C., Aug. 18, 2012. Obee was a rifleman from 1942 until 1962, and received the award for the adversity he endured as a Montford Point Marine, where he entered the service as one of the first African-Americans to do so.
