Cpl. Ronald Carreathers, a field artillery canoneer with Golf battery, 2nd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, is pinned with the Purple Heart by Maj. Ronnie Goode, the battalion executive officer for 2nd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, Oct. 31 at Camp Lejeune. Carreathers was shot by a sniper, while preparing to enter a compound, while deployed to Helmand province, Afghanistan.
