Marines with 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, sit in the back of an amphibious assault vehicle during their annual surf qualification Sept. 12, 2013, at Onslow Beach aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. Marines were taken 500 meters off-shore before evacuating the AAV.
