MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – Sergeant Joshua L. Moore is presented the Navy Cross from the Secretary of the Navy, the Honorable Ray Mabus, during an awards ceremony aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Nov. 1, 2013. Moore, 25, from Franklinville, N.C., received the military’s second highest award for his extraordinary heroism while serving as a scout with scout sniper platoon, 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 1, 2nd Marine Division Forward, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force Forward, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, March 14, 2011.
