Lieutenant Col. Steven M. Wolf passes the unit’s colors to Lt. Col. Joel F. Schmidt, signifying the change of command of 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division between them, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Dec. 10, 2013. The passing of the guidon is the symbol of passing the responsibilities between commanders, as the outgoing officer passes it to the incoming commander.
