Marines participating in a simulated foreign humanitarian assistance and disaster relief scenario, with 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, escort a role player to a holding area after he attempted to breach the simulated embassy compound, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., May 15, 2014. Marines had to maintain constant alertness as the role players were attempting to enter the embassy by climbing over walls and sneaking around the perimeter. The exercise lasted five days and evaluated the unit’s performance of the tasks they may need to execute on their upcoming deployment.
