Marines with 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division began to conduct their patrol aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Jan. 21, 2015. They took simulated enemy contact and proceeded to do immediate action drills, meaning that during each scenario the Marines would act immediately upon coming into contact with the enemy and they would either advance on the enemy position or break contact with an enemy with far superior numbers. The Marines ran a dry run followed by a run with live ammunition. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Justin T. Updegraff/Released)
