Marines with 2nd Tank Battalion, 2nd Marine Division and 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, traverse the New River from Camp Lejeune, N.C., Feb. 22, 2016. Marines from 8th ESB provided the means for transportation as they loaded all the armor and personnel upon their Seven-Bay Raft systems. The river crossing was part of a weeklong, large-scale exercise known as Iron Blitz. Iron Blitz, a Marine Corps Combat Readiness Evaluation, tested 2nd Tanks in their ability to integrate all aspects of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force and function as a deployment-ready unit.
