Lance Cpl. Curtis Strickland rushes forward during simulated contact with the enemy while participating in a counter improvised explosive device training patrol at the Yuma Proving Grounds, Yuma, Ariz. Strickland, a Fairmont, N.C., native serves as an assaultman with Weapons Platoon, Company K, 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division. 3/6 is in Yuma supporting the Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course taught by Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron-1 located at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz.
