CAMP SNAKE PIT Ar Ramadi, Iraq (June 22, 2005) - Major Benjamin B. Busch, team leader for Team 1, Detachment 3, 5th Civil Affairs Group, reaches for the dog tags of his fallen comrade, Capt. John W. Maloney, during a memorial service held here June 22. Maloney, a 37-year-old from Chicopee, Mass., and the late leader of Company C, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, was killed fighting terror in the city the evening of June 16 when an improvised explosive device exploded directly underneath his Humvee. Maloney was prior enlisted and had 18 years of dedicated service the Marine Corps under his belt when he paid the ultimate price.
