LAKE THARTHAR REGION, Iraq - Marines with Task Force Hard refill their skirmish holes in the early moonlit hours of June 22. The Marines used the holes to sleep and post watch in all night when they weren't searching for insurgent weapons caches as part of Operation Khandjar (Iraqi for dagger). The Task Force primarily involved Marines with 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment and went from June 17 through 22. U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Stephen D'Alessio (RELEASED)
