Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles and MRAP-All Terrain Vehicles provide over watch with heavy machine guns and automatic grenade launchers while Marines with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment clear compounds of enemy insurgents during Operation Jaws. That phase of Operation Jaws was designed to clear the Geston valley in northern Helmand province of insurgents.
