MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C.(July 26, 2006)-Lance Cpl. Tim S. Pope, a fireteam leader with Company C, 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment demonstrates the differences between the XM-50 protective mask the M-40 field protective mask. The Marines were part of the U.S. Army Operational Test Command's testing of the XM-50 here, July 26. The purpose of these series of tests is to see if the mask is capable of replacing the current model and also provide a joint service general purpose mask.
