Marines from H&S Company, 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, reseat the tombstone of a British citizen while cleaning and restoring the Royal Air Force Cemetery. The cemetery is the final resting place for 289 British citizens who resided aboard the base. The British flag last flew over the base in 1959 and since then the cemetery had been neglected and abused. Marines from the “Teufelhunden” battalion spent one of their last days in Iraq cleaning and restoring this hallowed ground into a place worthy of the men and women buried there. - Marines from H&S Company, 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, reseat the tombstone of a British citizen while cleaning and restoring the Royal Air Force Cemetery.
