BARWANA, Iraq (October 15, 2005)- Iraqi Security Force soldier smiles while guarding the polling center here during Operation Rivergate. More than two thousand people voted, most in the early morning, on the constitution, which could decide the future of Iraq. Operation River Gate is the effort to conduct counter-insurgency operations with Iraqi Security Forces to isolate and neutralize anti-Iraqi forces, to support the continued development of Iraqi Security Forces, and to support Iraqi reconstruction and democratic elections in order to create a secure environment that enables Iraqi self-reliance and self-governance.
