Master Sgt. Joseph M. Hanks, formerly the 2nd Marine Division operations watch chief, left, is congratulated by Brig. Gen. Joseph J. McMenamin, 2nd Marine Division's assistant commander, before being presented the Bronze Star Medal here April 11. Hanks, a 42-year-old Cincinnati native, was responsible for supervising combat operations and tracking significant events throughout the thousands of miles of terrain that division personnel and Iraqi Security Forces occupied in the Al Anbar province in 2005.
