-- Marines with 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines, 2nd Marine Division practice evacuating a casualty during a platoon assault course during pre-deployment training here, Oct. 24. The battalion spent a month in Virginia doing different ranges in preparation for their upcoming deployment. The five ranges focused on the platoon, mortar, combat marksmanship program, known distance and vehicle mounted heavy machinegun aspects of the infantry battalion.
