Marines of Company D, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion prepare to bed down for the night out in the open terrain of Iraq's Ninewa Province. Thoughout the deployemt Marines stayed up to 80 days ‘outside the wire,’ conducting reconnaissance and screening operations in wind, rain and snow.
