Swansboro, N.C., native Sgt. Phillip Coutts reads a voltage meter while working on a generator in need of repair. The 26-year-old is a generator mechanic and serves as the utilities chief for Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Marine Division (Forward). One of his responsibilities consists of making sure all generators work and function correctly, an essential part of the Marine Corps' energy resource in a deployed environment.
