Captain Andrew R. Jones, the commanding officer for Headquarters and Service Company, 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, recently earned his Navy and Marine Corps Parachutist Insignia, commonly referred to as gold jump wings, after conducting day and night jump operations with Company C, 2nd Recon Bn., from March 12 – 16 at Tactical Landing Zone Pheasant aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. Jones accomplished his personal career objective after spending 17 years in the Corps. He is executing orders to Company B, Anti-Terrorism Battalion, 4th Marine Division, in Amarillo, Texas, and knew the recent jump operations was his last shot before he left 2nd Recon Bn., to pin the gold wings on his chest.
