MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – Col. Kenneth M. DeTreux, the commanding officer of 8th Marine Regiment and native of Philadelphia, Penn., hugs Rebecca A. Yale from Meherrin, Va., after cutting a ribbon to reopen and rename the Wallace Creek Dining Hall in her son’s name Aug. 28, 2014, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. Corporal Johnathan T. Yale and Lance Cpl. Jordan C. Haerter died protecting their fellow Marines in Iraq when they stopped a truck loaded with 2,000 pounds of explosives before it reached its intended target in April 2008.
