The 36th Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. Eric M. Smith, pins sergeant ranks onto Sgt. Peyton Nott, a Jefferson City, Tennessee native, and motor vehicle operator with 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment 2d Marine Division, during a Marine Corps Combat Readiness Evaluation on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, July 24, 2023. Nott was awarded in recognition of his ability to take on the responsibilities and duties of a higher grade in an effective manner while working with Romeo Battery, 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division.
